Winterdances 2026 is a contemporary dance and dance film festival presenting international film screenings, live performances, and participatory events in Porvoo.
The 2026 edition explores the theme “Sustainability”, understood broadly as a question of care, connection, and transformation. Through dance, film, and live music, the festival invites audiences to reflect on social, environmental, and human perspectives of sustainability — how we relate to ourselves, to others, and to the world we inhabit, and how movement can express responsibility, empathy, and change.

Movements for Care
International dance film screenings featuring short works by artists from different countries, exploring sustainability, human connection, and social awareness through movement on screen.
Healing Core: Colab Session 1
A live performance for dance and string music, created in collaboration by:
- Beniamino Borghi – choreography & performance
- Patricia Milheiro – mentor & co-author
- Elina Mieskolainen – violin
- Laura Saari – cello
An intimate dialogue between movement and live music, Healing Core explores rest, healing, and transformation through a shared creative process.
Sydäntalven Tanssityöpaja
A participatory winter dance workshop facilitated by Jenni Koistinen and Virva Talonen, inviting participants to explore collective movement, presence, and embodied warmth during the winter season.
